Step Outside the Matrix to THRIVE!

Step Outside the Matrix to THRIVE!

You have so much untapped potential inside you! Dear One, It may be summer time, but life is super busy, super crazy – everyone’s rushing around taking care of all the things! Does that sound about right? Ugh. I say NO. That’s not right at all. That’s no way to live a fulfilling life. Society is not set up to help you thrive. It’s set up to make sure you “follow the rules”, that you’re a good little cog in the government/corporate machine, that you’re a good little consumer unit – buying, spending, busy – all while working hard to pay for it all. Staying busy keeps you from paying attention to what truly matters in life, insuring that you’re too wrapped up in all the things you “should” do. When you’re that busy and distracted, the government/corporate Machine continues to indoctrinate you, sneaks behind everyone’s backs with detrimental policy-making, destroying the environment, and exercising “Power Over” the people. If you’ve ever seen the movie The Matrix, then you’ve had a glimpse into this world of illusion that only works to serve the government, the institutions, bureaucracies and the very wealthy. Here’s what I know to be True (with a capital T) – You absolutely DO NOT have to live inside the Matrix and, Life gets MUCH BETTER when you stop following “the rules” I’m not saying you should disobey laws, hurt yourself or others, or go completely AWOL. (though sometimes that has a nice ring to it – like becoming an ex-pat.) What I AM saying is that there are so many choices available to you that you...

I Hear Voices in My Head!

Lately, as I’ve been working with clients, listening to what they are dealing with and going through, I’ve seen that so much of our unhappiness is self created.   We get caught up in the whirlwind of thought some refer to as the “ego mind,” and we ruminate on why we aren’t good enough, why something will never work, that we “should” do this, or “shouldn’t” do that, and so on, and so on.   Sound familiar?   Hey, we’ve all been there. Many of us live “there,” in that negative head space, or we visit frequently, choosing to limit ourselves and our lives by listening to that voice inside our head. And truly, most of us have more than one of those voices.   It helps to identify those voices – give them names, and, sense where in your mind or body they live. For example, my internal naysayer is named Negative Nancy and she’s in the right side of my head, towards the back, behind my ear. When you locate and identify those voices, it becomes easier to tune in to the voices within you that are your Higher Self, your intuition, your Angels and Guides.   Here’s another thing – a way toward healing. When you catch yourself going down the rabbit hole of self-criticism, see it as an opportunity.   It’s an opportunity to exercise self-love and self-forgiveness.   Self-love and forgiveness are True paths to healing and wholeness, regardless of the origin of the initial pain or trauma.   Treat yourself as you would treat someone you deeply love. Replace those negative thoughts with...

Positive Politics?!

Originally written/posted November 7, 2012   I have the benefit of not watching TV. I haven’t had my TV hooked up to cable, satellite or antenna for 11 years now.   And I don’t miss it.   Most of all, I am happy not to have it around election time, when things get nasty & grown people behave in bitter, ugly ways. Why do elections bring out the worst in people?   It’s good to be passionate about beliefs. It’s good to engage in political debate. It’s good to stand up for what we think is good and true in this world.     But, what is good and true in the world, really?   I can tell you that it’s not getting ugly, being condescending, spouting hatred and lies. It’s not wishing ill-will upon folks that hold differing opinions, beliefs or politics.     It’s fair to say that many, if not most, of us feel that our political system needs an over-haul. It’s fair to say that we all feel depressed, angry, frustrated and condescended to during election time. We could go on & on & on & on about the problems and what’s wrong with the system or this or that politician.   That is easy and we’ve engaged in this conversation for some time now.     I propose another approach entirely.   But first, let me ask you – How’s that hatred working for ya? What good things have come about because of your anger and frustration? Do you feel like your wheels are spinning and spinning and you are getting no where fast?...
